Words Say it All

Words are amazing.  They can build you up or tear you down.  I'm a teacher, so I should know better than to only use kind, helpful, and encouraging words.  But.......
my downfall is that I use hurtful, coarse, not thought out words of destruction.
All the time.
It hurts other people and it makes me feel.......YUCK.

As I was driving home today, after work,  one word kept going through my mind.

           W O R D S

So I thought back to the last week, the last year, the last 25 years.  How come I haven't got a grip on this yet?   Why is my mouth always ahead of my brain.  It's something we all have to deal with ~ "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin at all."

Believe it or not, this quote comes from the movie Bambi.

Twenty years ago my mom even made me a needle point design of the Bible verse that says "kind words are like medicine".

I think she was telling me in her own sweet way to

Be  Careful  what   you   say!

Then to top it off.  I was thumbing through a catalog today that sells home  accents.  Here are just a few of the words that appear on almost every page.  And guess what, not one of them is negative.  No wonder we love to scroll through catalogs ~  they make us feel warm and fuzzy inside.  What if  we had that affect on others?  What if we always left an impression of warmness and happy thoughts?
Wouldn't that just make your day?????

I'm starting now before it's too late and I wake up and find I've become a grumpy, grouchy, little old lady.     I'm giving it my best shot at being nice.   AND the best way to do it??
Use Nice Words   AND   THINK  NICE  THINGs.

Ps. 19:14   Let the words of my mouth and the meditaion of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Oh Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer.
